The Dirigible Balloon
Poetry for Children

Boy Girl Fruit Flower

The potted-pip and rainfall drip,
the snoozing dream of sipped moonbeam.
Boy. Girl. Fruit. Flower.

The sunlight feed for warming seed,
the sprinkled shower, day-sleep’s hour.
Boy. Girl. Fruit. Flower.

The leaping bloom of nectar’s spoon,
the buzzing bees and singing trees.
Boy. Girl. Fruit. Flower.

The lipstick scent and rainbow smile,
the sweetest silk and glowing mind.
Boy. Girl. Fruit. Flower.

The apple-eye, the melting butter,
dancing juice of hearts-a-flutter.
Boy. Girl. Fruit. Flower.
