The Dirigible Balloon
Poetry for Children

A Cup of Midnight Tea

Mum pours me a cup of midnight tea
A soothing, bedtime treat
With a spoonful of star-spun sugar
To make my dreams extra sweet
Each sip is a moon-melting moment
Deliciously dark and deep
With a hint of distant galaxies
To help me drift off to sleep.
