The Dirigible Balloon
Poetry for Children

Boxing Clever

Listen to Rob's poem ...
So my dad thinks it’s funny
how very small children
are just as interested
in the box and the wrapping paper
as the actual gift.

So my dad thinks it’s funny
to wrap up boxes and paper
inside gift-wrapped gift boxes.

So my dad’s children think it’s funny
to throw his coat on the roof
in case Santa’s feeling cold
and to put his car keys
inside a Christmas cracker.

We’re almost sure he’ll laugh
when he pulls it.
