Captain Blastoff
My best mate is just fantastic,
Even though he’s made of plastic.
As, among my buddies he’s the one,
That’s sling-shotted around the sun.
Captain Blastoff is his name,
He’s in the astronauting game.
No lofty frontier he’ll not tread,
Venus, Mars, atop Dad’s shed.
Arrived in time for my birthday,
From a place far far away.
Just the toy shop, said my bro,
But what does that big nitwit know?
He’s travelled where no other’s been,
Seen things no one else has seen.
Survived the dangers of black holes,
Exploding stars and toilet bowls.
When I took him into school,
My friends were jealous, one and all.
Teacher heard about the laser,
So I hid him in my blazer.
He came with us on holiday,
To Margate (not the Milky Way).
Where on the beach a giant gull,
Attacked him and my sister’s doll.
To save the day from a disaster,
The Cap deployed his photon blaster.
But it was more than he could handle,
So I lent a hand with Grandpa’s sandal.
At night he stands watch unafraid,
In case the aliens invade.
Wherever it was he came here from,
Captain Blastoff is my best chum.
Even though he’s made of plastic.
As, among my buddies he’s the one,
That’s sling-shotted around the sun.
Captain Blastoff is his name,
He’s in the astronauting game.
No lofty frontier he’ll not tread,
