Curious Imagination

“Daddy! Daddy look. It’s a secret house!”
Daddy is on ‘silent-automatic-pilot-mode’ and as quiet as a mouse.
Packing away the pushchair, bags, towels, sea shoes and shopping,
There’s no chance at this moment of ever stopping.

Flat on the floor spying through the grill in the ground,
“Look Daddy, there’s a secret window I’ve found.”
Bash, bang, crash, zooch went the car doors,
The eye-roll operation all parents loath to endure.

No time to think, no time to breathe and most definitely no time to stop.
“How do they get out? How do they eat? How do they shop?”
The high-speed curious questioning finally caught Dad’s eye,
“Son, it’s now time to board the Starship Enterprise and embark on our interstellar flight.”
