The Dirigible Balloon
Poetry for Children

Disco Bumblebee

Busy in the summer breeze,
bags of pollen in his knees,
gets through gallons of Frizz-Ease
Disco Bumblebee

Loves his old Bee Gees LPs,
all the other bees think he's
a species from the seventies
Disco Bumblebee

Hair so big it's quite unreal,
like a wig to touch and feel,
really digs the cuban heel
Disco Bumblebee

Listens to old disco tracks,
collecting pollen in his sacks,
gold medallion round his thorax
Disco Bumblebee

When he lands inside the hive
he does a funky waggle jive,
"Ah .. ha .. ha .. ha .. stayin' alive, stayin' alive!"
Disco Bumblebee

Busy in the summer breeze,
bags of pollen in his knees,
really pleased to be one, he's
a Disco Bumblebee
