Exhibition
This cobwebbed fence is saved
from being ordinary,
on a frosty morning of icy waking.
Instead, this garden divider, barrier provider,
Is an art gallery hung
with silver spun originals.
Brush strokes are suspended
in the air, canvassless.
Thin lines shiver into diamond etchings.
The grey air ripples with dog barks
and milk bottle clinks,
With the skedaddle of cats
in an alleyway
And the persistent turning
of a car engine.
A new day is stirring and soon
A schoolboy will pass,
stop, look and marvel
The patterns of spiders.
from being ordinary,
on a frosty morning of icy waking.
Instead, this garden divider, barrier provider,
Is an art gallery hung
with silver spun originals.
Brush strokes are suspended
in the air, canvassless.
Thin lines shiver into diamond etchings.
The grey air ripples with dog barks
and milk bottle clinks,
With the skedaddle of cats
in an alleyway
And the persistent turning
of a car engine.
A new day is stirring and soon
A schoolboy will pass,
stop, look and marvel
The patterns of spiders.
