Falling Into A Deep Sleep
Some seals
snooze in the sea,
slowly sinking.
Holding their breath
for half an hour,
rarely blinking.
Down and down,
below the sharks
still feeding.
Falling asleep,
are elephant seals
deep-dreaming?
snooze in the sea,
slowly sinking.
Holding their breath
for half an hour,
rarely blinking.
Down and down,
below the sharks
still feeding.
Falling asleep,
are elephant seals
deep-dreaming?
