The Dirigible Balloon
Poetry for Children

Flight of the Fumblebee

The Fumblebee flies
in a peculiar way
with a big bit of backwards
and a sweet little sway.

Then it drops all its nectar
and its pollen goes flying
and if you listen up close
you may well hear it sighing.

But it’s kind to its friends
and I’m glad it’s alive
making chaos and honey
in its higgledy-hive.
