How To Spell A Spell
A gargoyle’s breath on a foggy day
Bark of a dog who has nothing to say
Rustling of leaves in a winter tree
A daisy chain that sets you free
Counted chickens before they hatch
A candle lit with a blown-out match
Drips from a dried-up wishing well
A ring of truth from a pink bluebell
Broken lock with a working key
Rainwater sieved from a salty sea
A dash of mud to make it clear
then leave to brew for a frog’s leap year.
Bark of a dog who has nothing to say
Rustling of leaves in a winter tree
A daisy chain that sets you free
Counted chickens before they hatch
A candle lit with a blown-out match
Drips from a dried-up wishing well
A ring of truth from a pink bluebell
Broken lock with a working key
Rainwater sieved from a salty sea
A dash of mud to make it clear
then leave to brew for a frog’s leap year.
