It's Very Dark

Listen to Morna's poem ...
It’s very dark
When I go to bed
And Mum turns out the light.
But I fall asleep,
And wake up in the morning
And it’s very bright.

It’s very dark
When the sun goes down
And the birds go to bed.
But the moon comes out
And stars twinkle in the sky
And It’s very bright.

It’s very dark
When we’re on the train
Going through the tunnel.
But the horn roars
And we come out the other end
And it’s very bright.

It’s very dark
When the rain clouds gather
And the thunder rumbles.
But the lightning flashes
And the room lights up
And it’s very bright.

It’s very dark
When Mum pulls the curtains closed
And we sit round the table.
But Gran brings my cake with candles
And we sing ‘Happy Birthday’
And it’s very bright.

It’s very dark
When we go camping in the country
And we’re outside our tent.
But Mum lights the campfire
And we toast marshmallows.
And it’s very bright.

It’s very dark
When we go to the pantomime
And the lights go down.
But the music starts,
And the curtain opens
And it’s very bright.

It’s very dark
When I go to bed
And Mum turns out the light.
But I fall asleep,
And wake up in the morning
And it’s very bright.
