Jingly Jangly Jolly Jubilee!

Listen to Linda ...
Jingly jangly jolly jubilee!

There’s a throne for the Queen at our party!
Her Majesty shines bright through British weather,
Adversity, celebration; brings us together.

Upon trestle tables of royal blue
Sit jam pennies and pots of Earl Grey brew,
Coronation chicken, chocolate biscuit cake -
The finest of foods my neighbours can make.
Bright bunting’s festooned of red, white and blue.
Even a deluxe royal Portaloo!

Jingly jangly jolly jubilee!

There’s a throne for the Queen at our party!
Leaning on a lamppost waiting for you …
We’ve painted the sky your favourite blue.

There are plush corgi baskets, posh corgi bowls,
Perfectly planned under committee controls.
Of Ma’am’s long monarchy, we’re deeply proud.
We want you to hear cheers and claps so loud!
We’ve mixed your favourite Dubonnet cocktail,
Ma’am’s stoic dedication we all hail!

Jingly jangly jolly jubilee!

There’s a throne for the Queen at our party!
Leaning on a lamppost waiting for you …
We’ve painted the sky your favourite blue.

Expectant pavements and hopeful alleys,
Fresh sweet scents of lily of the valley,
There’ll be a pipe band marching, fun charades,
Sleek clip clippety-clop pony parades.
The music is pegged for the string quartet,
We’ve booked a fly past of Red Arrow jets.

Jingly jangly jolly jubilee!

There’s a throne for the Queen at our party!
Leaning on a lamppost waiting for you …
We’ve painted the sky your favourite blue.

Jingly jangly jolly jubilee!
There’s a throne for the Queen at our party!
Lots of fizz and whizz, bubbling elation,
But the thing we forgot …

was the Queen’s invitation!
