Jive in the Hive
Would you like to be a bee?
It’s lots of fun, just follow me…
First, we need to scrub and clean
to make the hive fit for a queen.
Then off we’ll buzz in search of lunch,
some tasty dandelions to munch,
a sweet drink from a nectar cup -
stick out your tongue and sip it up!
And do you know, the way bees show
their worker friends where flowers grow?
They waggle dance! Let’s have a go…
Circle left and flap your wings,
circle right and shake your stings.
Stand up straight, you’re doing great -
let’s make a groovy figure eight.
Wiggle! Waggle! Do a spin.
It’s time to jive. Come on, join in!
And after we’ve all had our feast,
we’ll hold a ball for mini-beasts -
where roaches rock and beetles play
and termites twist and spiders sway.
See millipedes tap all their feet
and worker bees bop to the beat!
Let’s conga with a line of ants -
we dig their groovy disco pants!
Then one last time, take to the floor -
it’s time to do the big encore…
Circle left and flap your wings,
circle right and shake your stings.
Don’t hesitate, you’re doing great -
let’s make a groovy figure eight.
Wiggle! Waggle! Do a spin.
It’s time to jive. Come on, join in!
