Just Around the Corner

Listen to Helen read her poem ...
Just around the corner
There's a dragon breathing fire
I quickly dart from left to right
As flames rise higher and higher.

Just around the corner
There's a fort under attack
I draw my shining, pointed sword
To hold the raiders back.

Just around the corner
There's a ship caught in a gale
I shout out from the crow's nest
As we almost hit a whale!

Just around the corner
There's a jungle, lush and green
I tiptoe slowly through the ferns
Where tigers lurk, unseen.

Just around the corner
There's a skinny block of flats
It's where I live with Mum and Fred
And Smudge and Pip our cats.

And here's the little corner
Where we snuggle up and share
The most fantastic stories
That could take us anywhere...
