Lighthouse

I like to see a lighthouse,
stream a beam of light,
for ships that sail in salty seas
on somber, shivery nights.

I love to see a lighthouse,
standing stoic and strong,
as willful waves and wayward winds
roar and rage along.

I’ll try to be a lighthouse,
a loyal, lasting friend,
one you can forever trust,
on whom you can depend.

I’ll always be your lighthouse.
light up the path to home.
Wherever you may choose to go,
wherever you may roam.
