Magical Friend
When I'm exploring
with my camera,
a magical world
says to me,
“would you please
take my pic?”
So I run from field
to pond
and forest too,
snapping photos
of soaring swallows
in mid-flight,
warty toads croaking
"don't forget me!",
and sleepy bees
covered in gold
napping in blue blooms.
Crouching close
to the ground
I capture pics
of hungry bugs munching
on tender shoots,
ants carrying mighty loads,
and beetles marching
in tiny parades.
One day I will travel
around the world
taking photos
of pandas, whales,
and tigers too,
but today,
I'm happy to play
near my home
with my friend
the camera lens,
snapping a photo or two
or maybe even three
of bunnies, squirrels
and turtles too.
with my camera,
a magical world
says to me,
“would you please
take my pic?”
So I run from field
to pond
and forest too,
snapping photos
of soaring swallows
in mid-flight,
warty toads croaking
"don't forget me!",
and sleepy bees
covered in gold
napping in blue blooms.
Crouching close
to the ground
I capture pics
of hungry bugs munching
on tender shoots,
ants carrying mighty loads,
and beetles marching
in tiny parades.
One day I will travel
around the world
taking photos
of pandas, whales,
and tigers too,
but today,
I'm happy to play
near my home
with my friend
the camera lens,
snapping a photo or two
or maybe even three
of bunnies, squirrels
and turtles too.
