Morning Moon
Round
and white,
my morning moon
hangs suspended
a surprise in the
azure sky like a
floating peppermint
or a celestial pie.
Sunlight warms
my moon, softens
its round shape, melts
its raggedy edges,
blurs and swirls
untethered,
a ball of lint tossed
into a basket of blue.
and white,
my morning moon
hangs suspended
a surprise in the
azure sky like a
floating peppermint
or a celestial pie.
Sunlight warms
my moon, softens
its round shape, melts
its raggedy edges,
blurs and swirls
untethered,
a ball of lint tossed
into a basket of blue.
