The Dirigible Balloon
Poetry for Children

My Friend, Eliza

When I had my party
I asked everyone I knew:
Albie, Archie, Thomas, Luke,
Eliza Pettigrew.

Eliza wears pink glasses,
Eliza hugs a lot.
Eliza uses her hands to talk -
signs for drink, for cake, for not.

Eliza smiled all morning
and was sad it had to end.
I hope she comes to tea again.
Eliza is my friend.
