My Rock ’n’ Roll Girlfriends

When I met energetic Fannie Mae
we simply danced the night away.

Then Lawdy Miss Clawdy really floored me
but the Prima Donna just ignored me.

Dizzy Miss Lizzy left my head in a whirl
while Susie Darlin’ was the sort of girl

that my mother would invite home for tea
but she didn’t approve of Tutti Frutti.

Skinny Minnie and Bony Maronie
were never quite enough for me.

Be-Bop-A-Lula and Bop-a-Lena,
one was mean, the other was meaner.

So I kept chasing after Runaround Sue
when Maybelline just couldn’t be true.

Stayed out too late with Midnight Mary
and Wicked Ruby was simply scary.

I fell asleep at the drive in movie
and failed to wake up Little Susie.

I asked Sandra Baby to go out with me
but she turned around and whispered ‘Maybe’.

But although she and I have history,
Long Tall Sally will always be
the only girl for me.
