One Snowflake

I try to give
one snowflake
my full attention.
I focus on one.

Just one.

Its shine. Its spin.
I almost memorize
each sleek edge.

Until the wind
grabs it, tugs it, throws it
around, over, through
so many snowflakes.

Great gusts of snowflakes from ground to sky
one thick sheet of snow! Where’d mine go?

I know my snowflake is still there.
Somewhere.
Even when I can’t see it.
