The Dirigible Balloon
Poetry for Children

School Trip to a Garden

A belt of blooms amongst the grass
Elegantly sparkling asters
Bright as a summer morning
Bob in the breeze

Bending low the beguiled sky
Breathes deeply the warm scents
Playfully nudging the flowers
into a joyous nodding

Paper white cotton candy clouds
Crease and crinkle all day
Laughing at the golden sun
All serious and silent

Cobalt blue sky
Loudly yawns and stretches
Wholesome smiles of delight
light up every being

Blithe little hearts
Jump and run
Round and round
Fulfilled to the brim
