Scotch Bonnet! Scotch Bonnet!
Is the hottest of the chillies.
Scotch Bonnet! Scotch Bonnet!
Because my Dad is super silly.
Scotch Bonnet! Scotch Bonnet!
Tried to eat one for his tea.
Scotch Bonnet! Scotch Bonnet!
Resulting in hilarity.
Scotch Bonnet! Scotch Bonnet!
His eyes bulged out, his face turned red.
Scotch Bonnet! Scotch Bonnet!
'He looks all sunburnt!' Mummy said.
Scotch Bonnet! Scotch Bonnet!
He drank two pints of semi-skimmed.
Scotch Bonnet! Scotch Bonnet!
Produced unearthly-sounding wind.
Scotch Bonnet! Scotch Bonnet!
I sat back laughing in my chair.
Scotch Bonnet! Scotch Bonnet!
Cos it was me that made the dare!

Elizabeth is a Pushcart nominated poet from Belfast in Northern Ireland. She has been published in journals including Banshee, Abridged and Riggwelter.
