Martha said she’d seen him.
Apple pie cheeks,
a smile that could melt the frozen ‘tricicles.’
He had a pillow-down tummy,
dragon-proof boots,
woolly mammoth gloves
and clutched Parcel Mountain.
Then came three rings at the door,
as bright as the sun glittered snow.
There was skittering of excitement,
when they scuttled to the hall,
and! There he was.
The postman …
Martha said she’d seen him!
We told her that she had.
Apple pie cheeks,
a smile that could melt the frozen ‘tricicles.’
He had a pillow-down tummy,
dragon-proof boots,
woolly mammoth gloves
and clutched Parcel Mountain.
Then came three rings at the door,
as bright as the sun glittered snow.
There was skittering of excitement,
when they scuttled to the hall,
and! There he was.
The postman …
Martha said she’d seen him!
We told her that she had.
