Springs
Do you hear it?
Over there.
A trickle of ideas, ready to flow
from the head of the girl with the braided hair,
like a spring bubbling up
through the moss on a mountainside,
so fresh and cool you gasp when you taste it.
There’s another spring of ideas
in the head of the freckle-faced boy
and the head of the boy shooting hoops.
As their ideas flow out and tumble down the mountain,
they’ll gather energy,
joining with the ideas from other kids’ springs
to form rivers of creativity
that will pour into an ocean of possibility,
a well that will water the future of our world.
Listen for the trickle in your head. Do you hear it?
Maybe not yet.
But it’s there, waiting to bubble up.
Over there.
A trickle of ideas, ready to flow
from the head of the girl with the braided hair,
like a spring bubbling up
through the moss on a mountainside,
so fresh and cool you gasp when you taste it.
There’s another spring of ideas
in the head of the freckle-faced boy
and the head of the boy shooting hoops.
As their ideas flow out and tumble down the mountain,
they’ll gather energy,
joining with the ideas from other kids’ springs
to form rivers of creativity
that will pour into an ocean of possibility,
a well that will water the future of our world.
Listen for the trickle in your head. Do you hear it?
Maybe not yet.
But it’s there, waiting to bubble up.
