The Fairy Dinosaur
I’m a dinosaur longing to be
the fairy on top of the Christmas tree.
I’m a metre tall so not very big.
I have no hair, so I'll wear a pink wig.
I'll make a pearl necklace and silvery wings,
have sparkly blue shoes and five golden rings,
a rainbow wand and a diamond crown
and billowing yellowy fairy-light gown.
Now that I’m ready, I’m too large and too bright,
so, I’ll perch in an oak tree and light up the night.
the fairy on top of the Christmas tree.

About the Writer
Christine R Milne
Christine is a poet who loves writing haiku. Some of them have been published in haiku journals and anthologies and also in Ink Sweat and Tears. Luckily other poems pop into her head. Most of them are for children which is not surprising as she enjoys being a teacher and a mother. Also, creating poems that connect with a child’s view of the world is really special. She has been published in The Dirigible Balloon.
