The Night Watch
I have a nut-brown teddy bear
Who guards me every night
He has a little wooden sword
And keeps me safe from fright
Whenever spooky-dooky dreams
Come creeping through my room
He charges into battle
Protecting me from doom
One night he fought a slimy shade
That crept across the floor
Then chased away the hairy beast
Behind my closet door
My teddy bear’s a hero
There’s nothing that he fears
Well, nothing but my puppy dog
Who sometimes chews his ears
Who guards me every night
He has a little wooden sword
And keeps me safe from fright
Whenever spooky-dooky dreams
Come creeping through my room
He charges into battle
Protecting me from doom
One night he fought a slimy shade
That crept across the floor
Then chased away the hairy beast
Behind my closet door
My teddy bear’s a hero
There’s nothing that he fears
Well, nothing but my puppy dog
Who sometimes chews his ears
