The Telescope

Listen to Meredith read her poem ...
In the backyard, Henry held the telescope high
His mom told him how it could look at the night sky.
She had laughed when he first put his face where it’s wide
Everything looks tiny through the glass on that side.
Instead, he learned, if you gently flip it around,
Put your eye where it’s tiny, look up from the ground,
You can see the details of the moon and the stars.
Look at that red, cloudy spot! It’s the planet Mars.
