The Villanelle
This poem has a fixed form, I can tell
It is not taught in school by my teachers
That is the beauty of the villanelle
Rules are good, they bring me out of my shell
I have ambitions, children are leaders
This poem has a fixed form, I can tell
Schools are good, we make friends with whom we gel
We can learn this together, beginners
That is the beauty of the villanelle
I see that we can do this very well
Clarity is good for little learners
This poem has a fixed form, I can tell
Nothing can stop us, not even the bell
It is easy to learn for us writers
That is the beauty of the villanelle
If I could write daily, that would be swell
The world is full of potential readers
This poem has a fixed form, I can tell
That is the beauty of the villanelle
It is not taught in school by my teachers
That is the beauty of the villanelle
Rules are good, they bring me out of my shell
I have ambitions, children are leaders
This poem has a fixed form, I can tell
Schools are good, we make friends with whom we gel
We can learn this together, beginners
That is the beauty of the villanelle
I see that we can do this very well
Clarity is good for little learners
This poem has a fixed form, I can tell
Nothing can stop us, not even the bell
It is easy to learn for us writers
That is the beauty of the villanelle
If I could write daily, that would be swell
The world is full of potential readers
This poem has a fixed form, I can tell
That is the beauty of the villanelle
