Thirsty Snail
Once I peeked beneath a leaf
and to my utter disbelief
a tiny snail sat poised to sip
a raindrop from an acorn’s lip.
He drew a mighty snail breath in,
a bubble rose up to his chin.
He shivered in his little shell.
It was delicious I could tell.
As I stood and watched him drink
his skin transparent, damp and pink,
I swear I saw him smack his lips
he so enjoyed those tasty sips.
and to my utter disbelief
a tiny snail sat poised to sip
a raindrop from an acorn’s lip.
He drew a mighty snail breath in,
a bubble rose up to his chin.
He shivered in his little shell.
It was delicious I could tell.
As I stood and watched him drink
his skin transparent, damp and pink,
I swear I saw him smack his lips
he so enjoyed those tasty sips.
