There might be grown-up secrets
hidden in this verse
there might be dodgy dad-dancing
or dad jokes (even worse!).
There might be silly mum-songs
you should give them a miss
there might be adult-sounding words,
Mum and Dad might kiss!
This poem might be boring
or totes inappropes, you know,
this poem might be drinking wine.
I mean it – you should go!
This is not a kids’ poem
it’s for the grown-up crew.
