What is Relief?
Taking your boots off after a day-long hike.
Finding a toilet when you think you’re going to explode.
Sitting in a school assembly wearing only underwear
then waking up to realise it was just a dream.
A traffic jam finally on the move again.
A gulp of ice water after running like a summer cheetah.
Finding your favourite food on the menu
of a restaurant you’ve never been to.
Scratching an itch with your scratchiest fingertip.
Losing your keys and finding your keys
in the place you always keep your keys.
An arm around your shoulder when you feel all alone.
