The Dirigible Balloon
Poetry for Children

While the Sun Sleeps

The sleepy sun has slipped away,
and now the stars sneak out to play.

They fill the sky, they have a ball.
They shine and sparkle, shoot and fall.

They wink and twinkle, taking turns,
then scatter when the sun returns.
