Winter's Wind
It speaks of cosy blankets
And hot chocolate in heavy mugs
The cooling wind brings whispers
Of ice and snow and cold
It chatters of the winter
Racing to our door
It shakes the trees as it passes
Until the leaves are no more
It brings the icy rain
That pushes us inside
It steals our very breath from us
As we rush to get home
It whistles round
And howls down the chimney
Of our cosy house
Fanning the flames of our fire
We are safe and warm inside
It can roar and rage
Winter's wind can't reach us here
There is peace inside these walls
And hot chocolate in heavy mugs
The cooling wind brings whispers
Of ice and snow and cold
It chatters of the winter
Racing to our door
It shakes the trees as it passes
Until the leaves are no more
It brings the icy rain
That pushes us inside
It steals our very breath from us
As we rush to get home
It whistles round
And howls down the chimney
Of our cosy house
Fanning the flames of our fire
We are safe and warm inside
It can roar and rage
Winter's wind can't reach us here
There is peace inside these walls
