This poem is
A work in progress.
It’s missing a few similes
And the metaphors are delayed
The rhymes are pretty dicey
And the rhythm can’t be saved
If you’re hoping for alliteration
Or onomatopoeia,
I’m afraid you’ll still be waiting
For the best part of a year.
Trying to find the words to write
Is causing too much stress
Which is why this poem remains

Charlie has seven rainbow fish, a hamster called Curious and two human children who put pants on their heads and wellies in the washing machine. Her first poetry collection for children, ‘There’s a Poem in my Dungarees!’, was published last year. She loves playing and being silly - with words and in real life.
